For architects.

Award-grade architectural documentation produced to the file specs that the RIBA, AJ, Dezeen, and Wallpaper actually publish — without composite skies, HDR sandwiches, or AI cleanup. Verticals corrected on set.

Why practices commission Luxhaus

Award juries and architectural editors are increasingly critical of composite skies, HDR sandwiches, and AI-blended fills. Architectural photography here is shot the documentary way: verticals corrected with a tilt-shift on set, single-exposure where possible, no fabricated weather. The set is built to survive a RIBA jury read at full resolution.

A shoot built around the sun, not the diary

Each elevation is photographed at the hour the light describes it correctly. Multi-elevation buildings often need a two-pass schedule across one or two days. The studio brings a tilt-shift kit (24mm + 50mm), tripod-locked composition, and a sun-tracker overlay built into the shoot plan.

Deliverables for publications and awards

TIFF masters, sRGB JPEG web exports, and named-to-spec files for RIBA Awards, AJ Architecture Awards, the Stirling Prize, Dezeen, Wallpaper*, and Architectural Review. Embargoed press delivery is the default for projects with a publication window. Pairs naturally with the studio's interior photography coverage for whole-project documentation.

Coverage

Studio is in Bristol; regular practice work in Bath and the Cotswolds. Travel further into the South West and London by arrangement.

FAQ

Are the images award-submission ready?

Yes. The set is shot and edited to RIBA / AJ jury standard — clean verticals, single-exposure where possible, no composite skies, no AI fills, no flash artefacts. Files are named and sized to each award scheme's submission spec.

Do you handle the press file submission for us?

Yes. Files are prepared to Dezeen / AJ / Architectural Review specifications — TIFF master, sRGB JPEG web, named according to the publication's requirements. Embargoed deliveries handled on request.

How long is a typical architectural shoot?

A single small-to-mid scale project (one dwelling, an extension, a refurbishment) typically takes a full day, often with a second half-day if a second sun direction is needed. Larger or multi-building schemes are scoped per brief.

Do you photograph the interiors as part of the same engagement?

Yes — most architectural commissions include interior coverage as a single integrated set. The interior shoot is built around the architecture, not styled as a magazine feature unless the brief calls for it.
